Reporter and photographer Jaime Guadalupe González was killed in Ojinaga, a city in the north part of Mexico. He was riddled with 28 bullets. The offenders only took his camera.

González worked for a local digital newspaper and was on his way to the editorial office to hand in the photos he just took. He probably had pictures that were incriminating criminals.

Ojinaga is located in state Chihuahua, near the boarder with Texas. An area were several drug cartels are fighting a harsh battle. At stake is gaining control of drug routes from Mexico to the Unites States.

The murder also means the end of digital newspaper www.ojinaganoticias.com.mx. 'This is probably our last news item', states the newspaper on their website.

Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries for journalists. González is the 79th journalist who is being killed since 2006.
