Free Press Unlimited receives over 3 million Euros from the Postcode Lottery. This was announced on the 'Goed Geld Gala', 13 february 2013. Over 2.5 million Euros have been donated to Free Press Unlimited's project Kids News Network, contributing to the launch of new kids news programs worldwide. 'This is excellent news. By setting up new kids news programs around the globe we will be able to provide 300 million kids with independent news in the near future', says Leon Willems, Director of Free Press Unlimited.

Kids News Network
In cooperation with Child Helpline International, Greenpeace and local media partners Free Press Unlimited develops independent, child-friendly news programs in several countries. From a young age on kids should have the right to know that there are more versions of the truth. And also that there is more to the world than their own community. Willems: 'In many countries kids are not taken seriously. They can not express themselves about important issues such as climate change, inequality or child labor. Through the Kids News Network we want to give them a voice.'

Expanding the global network
The Kids News Network programs are already very popular and have millions of viewers worldwide, both kids and parents. With the Postcode Lottery's contribution Free Press Unlimited will expand the existing network to new countries: Brazil, India, Mexico, South-Africa, Egypt and Russia. Upcoming economies where kids rarely have access to independent information.

Many thanks
