Kids News Network
In cooperation with Child Helpline International, Greenpeace and local media partners Free Press Unlimited develops independent, child-friendly news programs in several countries. From a young age on kids should have the right to know that there are more versions of the truth. And also that there is more to the world than their own community. Willems: 'In many countries kids are not taken seriously. They can not express themselves about important issues such as climate change, inequality or child labor. Through the Kids News Network we want to give them a voice.'
Expanding the global network
The Kids News Network programs are already very popular and have millions of viewers worldwide, both kids and parents. With the Postcode Lottery's contribution Free Press Unlimited will expand the existing network to new countries: Brazil, India, Mexico, South-Africa, Egypt and Russia. Upcoming economies where kids rarely have access to independent information.
Free Press Unlimited is one of the privileged recipients of the charity fund of the Postcode Lottery. Annually Free Press Unlimited receives a fixed amount of 500.000 Euros. Free Press Unlimited thanks the Postcode Lottery for showing continuous confidence in its projects and of course the many people who participated in the Lottery. They are enabling Free Press Unlimited to expand the Kids News Network.
