Finally, the time has come: after a year of preparations, Press Now merged with Free Voice as well as RNTC’s Foreign Projects department.

Over the past few years, the three organisations had already regularly worked together, as well as increasingly coming to share the same objectives. Thanks to this merger, they can now bundle their strengths within a single decisive NGO with media projects in 40 countries, including Egypt, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan and Kosovo.

Like its predecessors, the new organisation will make a strong effort to promote the development of independent media in conflict areas and countries with repressive regimes. In such areas in particular, independent information is of vital importance. Leon Willems was appointed by the board as Director of the merger organisation.
