About the role
As Grant & Compliance Manager Programmes, you are responsible for ensuring that donor-funded programmes, with a strong focus on Latin America, are implemented in line with contractual, financial, and compliance requirements. You act as the link between programme teams, finance, and donors, ensuring that projects are delivered effectively, transparently, and in compliance with all relevant rules and agreements.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensure donor compliance throughout the project cycle while supporting practical and effective programme implementation
- Support proposal development, including budgets, results frameworks, and risk assessments in close collaboration with programme teams
- Monitor budgets and financial expenditure, and proactively identify and address deviations
- Coordinate high-quality donor reporting (financial and narrative) and ensure audit readiness and compliance with requirements
- Manage grant documentation, contracts, and compliance processes in a structured and accessible way
- Act as a sparring partner for programme teams on donor rules, risks, and implementation challenges
- Support and strengthen internal processes, systems, and tools for grant and compliance management
What we are looking for
We are looking for a structured, detail-oriented, and proactive professional who is comfortable working at the intersection of programmes, finance, and compliance. You are able to maintain oversight in a complex environment and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality, while also supporting collaboration across teams.
In addition, you bring:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in grant management, compliance, or project management in an international environment
- Strong knowledge of donor regulations, compliance frameworks, and audit requirements
- Experience with budget monitoring, financial reporting, and project cycle management
- Ability to translate donor requirements into practical implementation guidance
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Spanish. French is an asset
- Experience working in or with Latin America is required.
- Affinity with media development, journalism, or freedom of expression is an advantage
- A proactive and solution-oriented working style
