War in the Digital Age: Big Tech has to take responsibility
It is alarming to read up on BigTech's response (or lack thereof) to the war in Ukraine. Free Press Unlimited director Ruth Kronenburg recently spoke about it at a conference on 'War in the Digital Age'.
The Forum discussed how digital technologies transform the way wars are fought, population support is provided, information and awareness are handled, and disruption is contained. The conclusion is clear: a lot more needs to be done by Big Tech to ensure the protection of Ukrainian users, journalists, politicians, and civil society members.
