Support journalists in Syria and donate!
Free Press Unlimited has been working in and around Syria for more than 11 years to support the local development of media and media workers in all regions of the country, so they can continue to report on the reality in Syria. These media are already struggling to maintain independence and professionalism because of the pressure from politicised local, regional and international media. Now they have been hit hard by the devastating earthquake.
Fortunately, all our Syrian partners are alive, but almost all of them have lost family members, colleagues and friends.
"Even the war has not hit us this hard!"
Despite their own personal losses, these independent journalists want to keep working to provide reliable information to both their own residents and those outside Syria. Information that can be life-saving, now more than ever.
Now, our media partners literally have to build everything up from scratch, with which they need our help. Help to find new locations for newsrooms, radio stations, equipment, secure connections and also simply help to survive.
These journalists must be able to continue to practice their profession, because everyone has the right to reliable information.
